About Lake Mburo National Park-Self-Drive Mburo
Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah national park, is located in Kiruhura district , western Uganda and home to about 68 mammal and 350 bird species.
The park contains five small lakes that are part of a 50-kilometer-long wetland system, it is dominated by woodland because there are no elephants to keep the vegetation in check.
The western shores of Lake Mburo are dominated by rocky ridges and forested gorges, with patches of papyrus swamp.
Activities include game drives, boat rides, bird watching, nature walks, trekking, and horseback riding. It’s a four-and-a-half-hour road trip from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park via the Masaka- Mbarara road. If you are in a hurry, it will only take you about 2 hours if you are driving from Mbarara city center.
Lake Mburo National park is currently the most interesting park to visit according to the travellers who have visited almost all the parks. this is because of the plenty of animal species in the park and also the hospitality of the guides at the park.
